TOWN OF ALTON

SEPTEMBER 13, 2023
A Regular Meeting of the Township Trustees of the Town of Alton, Illinois was held on the above date in the City Council Chambers, City Hall Building, at the hour of 6:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bohart and on Call of Roll, the following members were present or absent:
PRESENT: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
ABSENT: None – 0
Also, in attendance was Alton Township Assessor Sheryl Beilsmith
Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan, that the minutes of the regular meeting of August 23, 2023 be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Chairman Bohart presented the Monthly Report for August 2023, (All Funds): Town Fund in the amount of $851,204.47; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $227,544.12; Social Security Fund in the amount of $79,061.87; Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund in the amount of $67,844.54; Town Savings Fund in the amount of $201,472.36. Mrs. MacAfee made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan, that the Monthly Report be approved and placed on file. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Chairman Bohart presented the Report and Listing of Bills for Payment and Action by Board; General Assistance Fund in the amount of $12,071.60; Town Fund in the amount of $19,215.15; Social Security fund in the amount of $1,171.00. Mrs. MacAfee made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that said Bill Listing be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Alderwoman MacAfee presented the following resolution:
Be it resolved to move $5,000.00 from the G/A Home Relief Expenses to The
Emergency Assistance Line in the 2023-2024 budget making the total for the 2023-2024 budget $15,000.00 Dated this day September 13, 2023.
Mrs. Brown made a motion, seconded by Mr. Meehan, that the said resolution be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
NAYS: None – 0
Mr. Keener made a motion, seconded by Mr. Strebel, that said amended budget for
Emergency Assistance be approved. The motion passed by the following vote:
AYES: Allen, MacAfee, Strebel, Brown, Meehan, Elliott, Keener – 7
NAYS: None – 0
There being no further business to come before the Board of Trustees at this time, Mrs.
Elliott made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that the meeting adjourn. The motion passed by the following vote:
